Case study
01The problem
A patient looking for a dentist usually does it from a phone, often in a hurry and not rarely in pain. A clinic site where booking means scrolling past service descriptions to hunt for a number in the footer loses them to the first competitor with a visible button.
02What I built
- Design led by accessibility: contrast, text sizes and touch targets set for the conditions people actually use the site in.
- Booking reachable from anywhere on the site, not only from one contact page.
- A local SEO strategy aimed at nearby queries, because the clinic serves one specific town.
- Treatment copy written in the patient's language rather than in billing-code terminology.
03What it does now
- Booking is one step away from anywhere on the site.
- The site meets its accessibility goals rather than treating them as an add-on.
- Organic traffic comes from local queries — patients who can actually get there.
04Why this stack
WordPress, because the clinic has to be able to change opening hours and the team list themselves. All the remaining work went into keeping that freedom from breaking accessibility or speed.
